Built upon meticulously constructed arrangements his work presents a mercurial blend of electronic music, orchestral elements and experimental soundscapes. Visceral, powerful and emotive, Lamagna’s compositions are characterized by ferocious industrial undertones and haunted melodies, creating a vivid aural experience that takes hold of the extremities of darkness and light.

Often delving into complex emotional and psychological landscapes, Lamagna’s work explores themes of identity, contradiction, and the human condition.
 
His evocative sonic imprint and genre defying approach made him a sought-after artist in the world of performing arts. Vincenzo Lamagna has created music for some of the world’s leading ballet companies and festivals including the English National Ballet, Göteborgsoperans Danskompani, Contemporary NINE dance theatre of Beijing and Festival D’Avignon. A longstanding collaboration with choreographer Akram Khan has seen both work together to create a string of widely acclaimed productions including the 21st-century adaptation of the romantic ballet Giselle, for which Lamagna composed a revolutionary orchestral score.
 
In recent years Lamagna has stretched beyond the stage to screen with him scoring the film adaptation of Creature in collaboration with award-winning director Asif Kapadia and actor Andy Serkis. Lamagna composed the score for Manchester International Festival commissioned short animation “Breathless Puppets” directed by Naaman Azhari.
